ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (Jan. 22, 2024) – Recruiters and representatives from Republic Airways will be present at Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) Wednesday, Jan. 24, at noon to offer information to students about aviation opportunities within their organization. The event will be in the university’s STEM Complex, room 104.
Information will be available about routes to careers as an RJet Cadet or First Officer with the organization. Viking alumnus and Republic Airways pilot, Ron Thompson ‘23, will be on hand to help with recruitment efforts.
ECSU has a partnership with Republic Airways through its RJet Cadet Program that allows ECSU graduates to transition to Republic Airways as first officers. In September, Republic Airways contributed $15,000 to ECSU to support scholarships and expenses, including check ride and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) examination costs for students in the Aviation Sciences program. ECSU offers the only four-year Aviation Science degree program in North Carolina with concentrations in flight education, aviation management, and professional aeronautics.
